2003 vintage, 80% Chardonnay, 18% Meunier, 2% Pinot Noir, light oak treatment, 42% full malolactic fermentation. - Moderate nose of talc, figs wet earth, spice and nuts.  Medium body, high complexity and high acidity.  Palate mostly mirrors with spice, nuts, figs, smoke, chalk and wet stones. 93pts.

With 13ha in the Valle de la Marne, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy produces 10.800 cases from vines planted in the Premier Cru’s of Cumieres, Hautvillers, Damery and Fleury-la-Riviere. With soils of limestone, clay-limestone and clay-flint, his vines are planted to 19% Chardonnay, 39% Meunier and 42% Pinot Noir. Vallee de la Marne is planted to 63% Meunier, 27% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay.  Top soil is limestone, clay, marl, sand and flint with  sub-soil of Cretaceous chalk.
