| 40% Meunier, 24% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Noir, remainder is older base wines. 50% from 2003, 50% 2004 vintage. - Moderate nose of minerals, wet earth, lemon, wet grains and button mushrooms. medium body, high complexity and acidity with a matching palate. 91pts.
With 13ha in the Valle de la Marne, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy produces 10.800 cases from vines planted in the Premier Cru’s of Cumieres, Hautvillers, Damery and Fleury-la-Riviere. With soils of limestone, clay-limestone and clay-flint, his vines are planted to 19% Chardonnay, 39% Meunier and 42% Pinot Noir. Vallee de la Marne is planted to 63% Meunier, 27% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. Top soil is limestone, clay, marl, sand and flint with sub-soil of Cretaceous chalk. | | | |
