Moderate nose of brioche, grains, quince and smoke.  Full body, high complexity and acidity with impeccable balance.  On the palate, grilled nuts, toffee, brioche, lemon cream, wet stone and pear. Interestingly a BdB from a famed Pinot Grand Cru. 94pts

Located in the Vallee de la Marne Domaine Gaston Chiquet produces 16,700 cases annually from an impressively large 22ha with cines in the Grand Cru site of Ay, and Premier Cru sites of Dizy, Cumieres and Hautvillers.  Through out these vineyards he 40% Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Vallee de la Marne is planted to 63% Meunier, 27% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay.  Top soil is limestone, clay, marl, sand and flint with  sub-soil of Cretaceous chalk.
