From Les Chetillons, an 80 year old parcel in Le-Mesnil. - Moderate nose of damp earth, black cherry, iron, lime blossom and wet stones. Moderate body, high complexity and acidity with long length. Brioche, apple tart, pear, quince, black cherry and minerals on the palate. 93pts

Francois Peters has vines in the Grand Cru sites of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, Cramant and Chouilly in the Cote des Blancs. Planted to 100% Chardonnay, his 17.5ha produce around 13,300 cases annually. The Cote des Blancs is planted to 96% Chardonnay, 3% Pinot Noir and 1% Meunier with a soil of cretaceous chalk and some clay and sand. Most vineyards have an east or southeast exposition.

Jason, are all of these notes from the new Theise portfolio? I totally appreciate your notes. The one thing that might help is if you could note when you think something is really good. I can tell technically when the wines are good from your notes but I also value your preferences. Give me a sign brother. A star or something??

I have a bunch more notes to come. Honestly, they were all good and I would happily drink them all again. I will try and go back through and insert some sort of rating for these, and put it down for the rest to come. Though I must sy that the scores are all within a pretty narrow range. The quality was that consistent across the board.

That's good to hear. I have an opportunity to purchase some of these at good prices but I need to narrow it down. Thanks for any additional comments.
