Tasted at Trade tasting 30th April, tasted about 11.30am

This is very unusual wine coming from ungrafted hand worked vines. They are 100% pinot noir and aged in old aged casks. In other words Champagne made in the traditions of pre-phylloxera Champagne.

Colour: Deep Gold
Nose: toasty rich meally notes with fresh peach, yeast and raspberry.
Palate: Beautifully harmonius on the palate with acids and rich flavours intergrating across the palate. The length is very impressive with balance and texture remaining for several moments. The finish is sudden but welcoming due to the powerful flavours.
Overall: A paradox of a wine. Reminds me of a souffle, power but light, broad palate feel yet delicately textured. A stunning wine. 98 Points on the Jeremy Scale. Not cheap retailing for around $300 USD, however only eight bottles were imported into NZ- not sure how many made it to the US>
