| $348CAD, available through the Spring/Summer LCBO Classics Catalogue. You might be lucky to find some in the U.S.
A little darker than the '95, more golden in colour. More subtle nose as well. Fine, fine bubbles in the glass, like a bead of pearls. Apple, yeast and lemon peel on the nose leading to flavours of granny smith apple, lemon, biscuit, cream, toast, liquid caramel, and figs. An unbeliveably long finish that went on for minutes with honey and walnuts and toast. The most amazing Champagne I've ever had. The freshness and solid acidity surprised me. This one still has plenty of stuffing to age many more years.- 96 points | | |

| Incredible nose. Yeasty with almonds, orange zest, tiny berries, and just a hint of sherry. AWESOME attack with the same notes. There is a loamy mushroomy (porcini) type quality to this that is just unbelievable. This may have been one of the best Champagnes I've ever had if not for the slightly watery finish. In any case, this was on my 'wines to try before I die' list and it really didn't dissapoint. Not the best Champagne I've ever had, but not so far off the mark. This will probably improve over the next 3-4 years and then last another 5 (at least). 94.5(+?) | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen | |

| Thanks, guys As I said, it was on my short 'try before you die' list and my friend, knowing how much I love Champagne, decided to open this (along with a '96 Groffier Bonnes Mares and a '77 Fonseca) for my informal birthday party. Incredible wine, and the best attack of any Champagne I've had. | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen | |

| And more praise. I've had this wine twice and it is superb. 1990 Salon Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs - France, Champagne, Le Mesnil Sur Oger, Champagne (11/24/2006)Light gold in color with a very fine mousse. It had an extremely strong nose of apples, pears, and yeasty brioche that continued through the palate. It seemed more ready to drink than a bottle I tried two years ago with exceptional balance. This bottle was a perfect example of why people buy and drink the high end champagne cuvees because it was phenomenal. WOW! (my very technical tasting term...) (96 pts.) | | | |
