Gold colored with apricots, peaches, honeysuckle, light redfruit, florals, nuts and stone. Medium plus bodied with immense concentration and great acidity. Layers upon layer of apricot, honeysuckle, stones and florals. Seamless flow, balanced with decades ahead of it.95pts.

1997 Huët Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Le Mont - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray (6/19/2008)

Tasted June 19, 2008 at an offline.

Opened and served immediately. Dark yellow to gold color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of honeysuckle, apricot and caramel. Flavors of honey, apricot and lychee on the medium finish. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Fairly clean and crisp on the palate. Drink now through let's say the medium term. (94 pts.)

A great wine, the only surprise to me is the drink now through medium. Having had this a handful of times and knowing the length these wines can age I could see this bottling outlive me. Though I don't claim to be a professional on the subject.

Well, that would be my first reaction as well but for some silly reason I don't see the acidity and fruit being there to last another 15-20 years. Could have been in a slightly dumb phase as well, kind of like my palate.
