| A cheap(8$USD) French bubbles form a region situated to the east of Bordeaux (well technically South East of but anyway, on with the wine.) I believe this is made from Colombard mostly, with some Gamay also used.
Thought I would try this. Please note I tasted this at room temp in an ISO.
Colour Straw, thick bead, although consistant, the wine had the look of a soft drink. Nose:Initial rock salt and seaweed smell, followed by wet wool, apples, very light yeasty notes. As the wine developed in the glass, mineral and flinty peachy characters developed. Palate: Little acids, alcohol dominate from the back palate through to the fore palate. Surprising considering it is only %12 alcohol. A little sweetness, after the second taste but it seems to have a TCA like character on the mid palate, however it isn't TCA effected. ( I tested it after tasting and it registered no corking!) Overall: A okay bubbles, but woudn't buy it again. 80 points on the Jeremy Scale. All in all it was flabby (bloody Colombard!!)
