The 95 Vintage Reserve is a blend based on 20 Grand and premier Cru vineyards.

Colour: Pale yellow gold with more greener notes than the GD. Again consistant bead with good size bubbles.
Nose: Floral and hazelnut characters dominated with some sort of sweet pastry notes and stone fruits.
Palate: A very firm wine which was more mellow than the harder GD. The palate was well developed and balanced. The length is powerful and resiliant.
Overall: I prefered this to the GD (Grande Dame), a more rounded, masculine style of wine. 94 points on the Jeremy Scale.

We had this wine last night with steamed lobsters with an herbed goat butter dip.

The very fine mousse lasted til the Champagne was finished. The light golden color accurately reflected the wine's youthful characteristics. The nose was yeasty with nuances of citrus, melons, and roasted nuts. On the palate, the wine was crisp with the flavor of honeydew melon. Balanced. Excellent. 93
