Purchased for 28 bucks from the February warehouse sale at Sam's. This is an Alsatian field blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris from Marcel Deiss - a producer who often stresses terroir and vineyard charactersitcs above the varietals he blends into his wines..

Bright yellow color. Clean aromas of pineapple, baked pears, and ginger. Off-dry flavors of lemon, mango, and lychee, with a hint of chalky minerality. Near perfect balance of ripe fruit sweetness and an uncommonly plush acidity. Medium-full bodied, with a gentle but persistent nettling spritz in the background. A very nice hybrid of German and Alsatian styles. Recommended. 92P.

Cheers,

Otis
