Had this at the NJ Poker Night gathering.

'00 Charles Schleret Gwurztraminer Herrenweg - 90 pts. Best nose of the night. Tangerine, floral and peachy. Spicy notes. Very good weight and length. A beauty.

This wine was still going strong the next day. I think it will drink well for at least 8-10 yrs.

jb, any sweetness to it? I like Gewurtztraminer with some sweetness, especially Alsatians. The '00 Mann Grand Cru Furstentum is one of my all-time favorites.

Btw, I see Schleret's wines on wine lists in a lot of restaurants. What's their reputation? I've never had one.

The wine was very ripe, but I don't think there was much RS. Schleret is a very good producer. I'd suggest trying one of his wines if you see it fairly priced on a list. This one sells for about $24.

I paid a couple of dollars less than that for the 95 point Mann Grand Cru Furstentum. Next time I see a Schleret on a wine list, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the info.
