Opened this wine last night with some boneless pork chops topped with carmelized onions and peas, carrots and sugar snaps on the side (a la Birds Eye).

Wine has a moderate ruby colored core with a pink rim. Moderate nose of strawberry and black pepper leads to the same flavors on the palate, with some additional apple and smoke in the mouth. This wine is medium to full in body for a PN with round tannins and good acidity. A very nice, drink me now Burgundy. jb Rating 85.

If this is any indication of how good the '02 vintage is in Burgundy, we may all be in for a treat. I am really looking forward to trying some 1er crus in the near future.

Good to know, JB. In the past, I have enjoyed many of the Rion's, particularly from 96 and 99.
