| 12% alcohol. $8.
Medium vibrant red color with purple tints and no legs. An expressive nose of bazooka bubble gum, banana, and strawberries. On the palate, the wine is quaffable with red fruits, slightly high acidity and light tannins. Drink no later than Christmas, 2002. 80 points.

| | Ah c'mon you have to drink Beaujolais Nouveau on the first day it is released! I admit though I felt like an idiot buying just a single bottle of Nouveau at D&M a few blocks from my home - so I picked up a bottle of Dunn 99 Napa Cab to try and camouflage the purchase. It didn't work. | | | |

| Hey, it's an 80 pointer so yucky??? They'll put a funnel in my mouth to have me taste a 55 pointer, but..... As a matter of fact, since my better half loves it, I bought 4 bottles of Maison Mommessin cuvee non filtrè, already drank two, I would rate it the same as Jones. | | | |

| I agree, it's more of engaging in a wine custom rather than the expectation of an amazing wine. Back when I worked at the wine store, we used to go through a ton of this stuff. The first 10 cases would be airdropped for the november date, the rest would come by ship to resupply. | | | |

| I like how jones rates the bottle an 80, and then calls it quaffable.
That's pretty much how it should be. 80 is supposed to be "good" which for me means "drinkable" or quaffable as well.
In any case, perhaps I'll get one just to see what the heck this type of wine is about. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

| | If you are looking to pick up some, I think Louis Tete makes the best Nouveau. | | | |

| | I'm no expert when it comes to BN, but the best I've had is the one Kermit Lynch brings in under his own label each year. | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| I think it's complete crap for the money. Raspberry juice at best, unripe raspberry juice at worst.
Beaujolais Noveau is a prime example of French Culture at it's merriest and also most honest. At least there are no pretences about the quality of this wine.
$20(NZD) is too much for this wine. On the other hand a decent Fleurie or a Moulin au Vent and I'll generally smile.
However anyone out there who truelly enjoys Beaujolais Noveau- good for you, you've found a cheapie that has a great tradition attached to it.
