This is a village wine that shows what can be accomplished on the village level in a good vintage.

Wine is a moderate garnet core with a hint of bricking at the somewhat watery rim. Nose is very pronouced and absolutely lovely. Lots of dried cherry, brown sugar, soy sauce. Medium bodied with a slight hole in the midpalate. Still red fruits, earth and a bit of black pepper in the mouth. Finishes just short of moderate. Very nice. jb Rating 87. QPR B-. $43.

You could do a lot worse for the $ with Burgundy, but I found this wine to be very enjoyable with a fantastic nose. The nose goes a long way for me.

jb-i tasted the 99 version of this wine last night at the wine library super tasting. a very good effort, but the price was in mid $60's even after the 20% case discount. a pass.

Yeah, I saw your score. Ghislaine Barthod is a very good winemaker, but as usual, the price is too high.
