Opened today by a prospective supplier to ply me with his wares. I'm looking at buying a few case's for the shops cellar so he popped it for me. Shelf price is around $280 NZD a btle (around $180-200 USD)

Tasted in ISO at room temperature.

A vibrant wine with soft hues of violet and softer reds tinging the edge. The nose was complex and very tight. I poured the wine in and out of another ISO to get some air and aroma out of this. This was when it wowed me. Initially black berry and dark cherry notes flowed out of this glass like a bunch of startled birds. The explosion of aroma's also displayed some hidden complexities of smoky mushroom and softer mocha/coffee notes. The palate was incredible! It was delicate and flowed across the palate very elegantly. Outstanding structure was wonderful and suggested this wine could age for a very good length of time. It was fairly full bodied for Vosnee Romanee and the tannins were very fine grain. It exhibited expressive length IMO,and showed a true pedigree rarely found in today's over priced Burgs IMO.

Bloody great stuff- 95 points. ( And yes I bought some for the shop.)

Meo Camuzet is one of my favorite Burg producers. I have 2 bottles of the '99 Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes patiently waiting until 2006.

Hmm, I just saw this in a local store. I was looking at it and wondering if it was worth the $$. Apparently so. I think it might need a new home.

Eric,
You're welcome.

Winetex,
As a Burg lover myself, I would have to say it was awesome. Go get it and put it down for one of those special occasions

JB,
I think 2006 would be conservative to be honest. Although it displayed a delicate palate its balance was awesome.
