| 1999 M. Lafarge, Volnay Vendanges Selectiones -- medium ruby color, with a hint of cloudiness, though nothing in nose or taste to support any concern; fabulous fresh cherry nose with some earthiness; extremely velvety texture, good acidity, medium body; ripe cherry/kirsch flavors, reminiscent of a Morgon with more heft, some spicecake and earth; very long finish. This wine has a good future, and it's drinking very well right now. This cost around US$40, and I'd buy it at that price if I could find it. App. 91-92 pts. | | |

| Thanks for the TN - I've heard that Lafarge is one of the premier producers in Volnay - have you tried a lot of his other wines? | | | |

| Sorry, jaimetown, this is the only bottle of Lafarge I've ever had (though I wouldn't hesitate to buy again in a good vintage based on this experience).
My wife brought the bottle back from LA a couple of years ago, where it had been recommended to her at a wine store. I don't believe it's available at all where I live. | | | |
