Opened and consumed without decanting over 5 hours - aromatically just explosive with spices and dark cherries. A good measure of gravitas for a village wine (could have easily guessed a 1er cru), but the palate isn't quite there in this bottle just yet. Good intro intensity but seems a little hollow on the mid-palate. Finish is vibrant and long - overall a fine bottle of wine, but didn't gain weight or length over the course of the evening. A demonstration of how a village wine can perform.    Expensive but relative for the 05 vintage.  Thanks to Jaimetown I locked in quite a few of these.  This should be a great buy over the years.

Dark, clear ruby color; Out of the bottle this was darker than I was expecting and had an aromatic nose of florals, spices, dark cherries and toasty oak. The oak was almost overwhelming in a balsam kind of way but retreated into the background. I agree with Jaimetown that there is some hollowness in the midpalate but it definitely regrouped for the finish which was minerally, tannic and acidic all at the same time. Killing it for a young, village wine, wow. Thanks JT for the heads-up to buy this one. (91 pts.)
