1999 Maison Albert Bichot Chablis Grand Cru Moutonne Domaine Long-Depaquit - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru (4/14/2007)
WIMLNR,NOWA,NOWS

Tasted April 14, 2007 at an offline. No formal notes. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Simple nose of minerals and yellow fruits. Steely on the palate (that’s an understatement) with perhaps a slightly creamy finish. Goofy. Light acidity and body. Drink now.

When did Moutonne get upgraded to Grand Cru? I was under the belief that it was still just a lieu dit of Vaudesir, but not a grand cru in its own right. Anyone have the answer? Guess I will have to research.

Don't look at me partner. I just cut and pasted from CellarTracker. However, I distinctively remember commenting to wine+art in the store when I bought the two bottles "Are you familiar with this producer? I'm guessing it'll be at least OK since it is a Grand Cru" so I'm fairly certain it was a Grand Cru. fwiw.

Just did a quick check of the INAO website and it is not listed, then I took a quick look at wikipedia and it had this to say;

"There is an eighth vineyard, la Moutonne, that has "quasi" Grand Cru status. (It is recognized by the BIVB, but not by the INAO.) It is located entirely within the Grand Crus les Preuses and Vaudesir."

Now that's a little bit interesting. Points out some "deficiencies" in these classification systems in my humble opinion. Not quite black and white.
