1999 Vincent Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Les Chanlins

This wine is dark ruby with some hint of amber, which I find surprising for a 1999. There is a nose of barnyard and some camphor initially, both of which blow off somewhat with a little air.

First sips show acidity with fine grained grip. With more air, the tannins soften and the wine fattens and sweetens just a touch to show some cherry and stone. I believe most likely this wine will last some time yet but suits me fine this evening. Hold them or drink them if you got em.

This modest beaune pairs very well with roasted chicken with herb and spinach salad while listening to Coltrane.
