Medium purple red with big aromas of toasty new oak, sweet cherry and plum, spice, horse hair, and minerals. Lush with low but sufficient acidity and tons of deeply concentrated fruit and oak. Light to moderate smooth tannins. Must like oak but if you do you will love this wine. Gros owns a solid two-acre block of Clos Vougeot that is located just below the Grands Echezeaux vineyard. Her vines average 50 years in age. Drink now (2008) to 2012. 93 points.
