| Light to medium brick red coloring throughout. Nose full of red fruits, cherry, spice, hung game/dried meats, mushroom. Medium bodied with resolved tannins and an explosive taste of red and black fruits, spice, mushroom, truffle, earth, hung game, tobacco, tea and cardomon. What Burgundy is all about.
Have had 5 times now with consistent notes. These wines make me shiver they are so good.

| I'm surprised it's still good, but Leroy's wines do age well. I'm holding onto my last bottle of their 1976 Chambertin. (not for long though) | | | |

| BO,
I have had her 1955 and 1959 Mazi each twice in the last two years. They still have years ahead of them as well.

| JasonH, I'm pleased to here about the 1964 Leroy. I have a couple and plan on opening one very soon. In your opinion, do you think it has the stuffing to hold a few more years? I also have a 1969 that I plan on opening soon as well. | | | |

| If the 1969 is the Echezaux(not Grands) definitely open that one first. I have had that wine probably a dozen times and some bottles have started sliding. The 1964 has stuffing for more years. It is so great right now at 41 years that I see no real reason to hold though, it won't improve. | | | |

| It is indeed the Echezaux and not the Grands. Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know how it turns out. | | | |

| Not up to the last bottle I had but still great. Leather, earth, cherry, game, sandalwood and spice. Medium bodied with cardamon, blackcherry, sous bois, game, red fruits. Integrated with more life ahead of it. | | | |

| Jason - you really ought to start drinking some better wines. Seriously, live a little.

| I tasted this last night for the first time. I bought two more bottles today, so I'll get 3 more tries . Spectacular, Jasons notes are spot on, wonderful, wonderful Burgundy. With DJ Hombre's cooking I was in heaven. | | | |

| Are you buying them at Premier Cru? Would like to find a good wine from my birth year. Apparently all wine producing regions really plonked it up in 1964. | | | |

| Winetex, try Brown Derby. I picked up a couple from them last fall and I beleive they still have some. I have a 1969 Echezaux standing up now for Sunday night. | | | |

| Yes. PC is down to their last few cases of 50 they bought. What's left now has 2 inches of ullage, but has been discounted $40. | | | |

| Stealth,
Was the bottle you tried from the lower ullage discounted ones? I wondered about those bottles but wasn't sure about the risk.

| No. I bought a 2 several weeks ago and picked them up yesterday, they measure at 1.75 inches of ullage or just touching the top of the '1964' sticker. PC was also selling 'leakers' a couple weeks ago for around $110. I two I picked up today were the 2 inch ullage, so we'll hope and see. | | | |

| I would definitely not chance the leakers unless you are allowed to return them if they're madeirized. | | | |

| Light ruby, bricked throughout. Dried cherry, baked raspberry, sous bois, cardamon, sandalwood and tea. Medium bodied, great intensity, medium acidity. Layers of flavors unfold with more bright redfruits, dried meats, sous bois, mushrooms, sandalwood, tea. Impeccable balance and power. Probably 2 of the best of 10 bottles I have tried with an absolute perfect fill on both. 97pts for both bottles easily. | | | |
