1997 Denis Mugneret Richebourg -- I know nothing about the Mugneret family and how the different Domaines are connected (or disconnected), but these folks all seem to know how to make damn good wine. This displays a medium-ruby color; big cherry and black tea nose; fairly rich cherry, tea flavors, hints of cola, fairly plush but still a bit tight, good acidity; fairly long finish with tannins outlasting the fruit, but just by a bit. Around 90 points, but the concentration of flavors balanced by acidity and tannin makes me think this one might still improve somewhat.
