Clear garnet core wth brick red/orange rim.

Good intensity nose with developed black cherry, pinot spice and some forest floor.

On the palate this has ripe medium tannins nicely balanced by good depth of fruit and crisp acidity. There is lots of spicy black cherry and forest floor and a very long savoury finish.

This is definitely a lot of wine from one of the less fashionable (and therefore cheaper) communes (£18/U$30). I recommend it - its drinking well now but has the structure/fruit to go at least another 2-4 years.
