Another day, and another bottle of a Marc Colin 2002 St. Aubin. My wife was making pork tenderloin, and she required a "dash of white wine." Just the excuse I needed!
Marc Colin 2002 St. Aubin 1er Montceau ($25, St. Aubin)Yellow gold in color - primary flavors of citrus, green apples and chalk. Still tightly wound, the wine shows a lot like it is a village wine from Chassagne-Montrachet - slightly lacking in refinement but the stuffing is there with bright citrus-apple flavors and a bitter chalk-laced finish. An hour after being opened, it opened up and smoothed out with more yellow apple flavors. I still have half bottle left that I will try tonight, but my next bottle will sleep for at least another year - I'm confident that this wine will improve with time. 88+ points.
