1998 Guigal Chateauneuf du Pape. Southern Rhone, France. 13.5% alcohol. $22. Medium ruby red color with a few thick clear slow moving legs. A reticent nose of game, flowers, herbs, and red fruits. High acidity coupled with light to moderate tannins. Plum and mint predominate the palate. Quite a nice lengthy finish. Drink now to 2008. 86 points.
