| 2003 Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (8/12/2006)

Tasted August 12, 2006 at a retail tasting. Served in a Reidel Restaurant Magnum glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of spice, pepper, mixed berries and mixed cherries. Flavors of black cherries, Bing cherries, mocha and mixed berries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Should drink well over the next 8-9 years fairly easily. Based on my local retail price of $47.59 I’d say the value here is agreeable. (91 pts.) | |
