2004 Les Cailloux (André Brunel) Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (8/1/2006)
WIML89,PURPLE88,WA89,NOWS

Tasted August 1, 2006 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear throughout. Nose of honeysuckle, lichee (yes, I agree 100% with RP on this one), pears and touch of spice. Flavors of spiced pears, nutmeg, a little white pepper and some nuts. Medium acidity, medium body. Good balance. Drink over the next few years. Based on the local retail price of $ $29.69 I’d say the value here is agreeable. (89 pts.)

I had it last night too. Very good notes, though I found it riper than I expected, with a bit of flabbiness that mellowed over time. I would score it the same, but not sure I will pick up any more.
