1999 Pierre Gaillard Côte-Rotie Viallère Réserve -- very dark red with dark gold at the edge; violets and dark fruit on the nose; grilled beef, plum, mineral flavors, quite silky, juicy acidity; very long finish, big tannins but lots of deep fruit. 93-4 pts. Great with a rare rib-eye.

This is the second time in six months I've had this wine. It should still shed some tannins and can go for at least 5 more years, but it's an impressive mouthful now.

Nice Seaq! I love Gaillard's wines, seems to fly a bit under the radar. Great visit too if you're in the Rhone.
