| 2000 Château de la Gardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (3/11/2006)

Tasted March 11, 2006 by itself at a retail wine tasting. Served in a Riedel “restaurant series” Syrah glass. Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of tobacco, black cherry and thistle. Flavors of red cherry, cocoa and red currants. I suspect this bottle had been opened for a while and wasn’t showing its’ full potential so I’m allowing an extra 1-2 points on the rating because of this. No recommendation as a result.
