| | 1999 Domaine Font de Michelle Châteauneuf-du-Pape -- my first experience with this producer, and it's a good one; medium-ruby in colour; bright raspberry/Grenache nose, with hints of floral; fairly dense, fills the midpalate, lots of juicy raspberry, grilled meat, tobacco, sweet and ripe, good acidity; very fine tannins, good length on the raspberry-dominated finish. Not a powerhouse, but everything is in proportion and it's drinking well now. About 90-91 pts. I don't think it will improve much, but it can hold some time yet. | | | |
