Tasted this evening from a half bottle. Huge dark fruits nose. Slightly spicy on the tongue. Seems pretty closed even after 3.5 hours in the decanter. I think this needs a few years to open up.

Based on the characteristics of the vintage and my experience with other vintages of this wine, I can't imagine opening before it's 15 years old. I'd bet this will be at its best from 20-30 years old. I'm just starting to drink the ones I have from the early 1980's.
