| $33 Costco. Our other St. Estephe Exceptional for the night is red black in color, but a shade lighter than the Phelan. Supporting a black cherry and somewhat new world nose, also showing some blackberry and cherry coke. Medium bodied with good dark red fruits, hints at more though with its dark concentration that should show nicely with some cellaring. Medium + finish with a good dose of tannin. A better wine than it sounds here, as it was really overshadowed by the Phelan, my Cal Cab friends killed it pretty quick though. Should be ready '06 to '15. 88+ points. | | |

| | Thanks. I have a bunch of "early" drinkers and this is one of them. 2006 sounds about right to try my first. | | | |

| | Thanks for these notes. I have been looking for a high-end QPR St. Estephe that will fill a hole in my 2000s (mainly because my two St. Estephes, Montrose and Lafon-Rochet, probably won't be drinking for another 20 years at least!). The Phelan-Segur in particular looks very attractive. | | | |
