| | $28 Costco. Deep cranberry red. With an hour in the decanter shows iodine, rust, cranberry nose though fairly closed. Medium bodied pretty angular and austere initially with just red cherry fruits on the palate. A nice medium plus length tannic finish though. With 3 hours of decanter time red fruits fill in considerably, also showing some black earth, bitter dark chocolates, and black olives. I initially was going to rate this at 88 points, but as it evolved, I really began to like it and would up it to 90. A wine that might end up pretty decent in 5 to 8 years. | | | |
