| Tasted at the Vitis Vinifera and jonnlisa dinner in Denver on Sunday, December 28, 2003.
Not tasted blind.
Here is a 1995 Bordeaux that is not shut down. Black fruits, oak and spice on the nose. Highly extracted black fruits, with a medium to long finish with noticeable oak, coffee and sweet tannins, this wine still has some baby fat to lose. Drinking well now, a couple more years in bottle would make it even more enjoyable. 92 points.

| Tasted at the January BAWE Merlot-A-Thon....
One of the top wines of the night for me, this was showing a light bricking around a very dark red core. A light, but complex nose of cocoa, earth, and soft red fruit. Very elegant on the palate, with complex layers of flavors and a fairly long intriguing finish. My #1 of this flight, 93 points. | | | |

- 1995 Château Monbousquet - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (5/3/2008)
Clear dark purple color; Smoke aroma and flavors with dark fruit; Balanced but somewhat hollow at the core. Low acid with fully resolved tannins. This bottle was ready to drink and went well with the food. (91 pts.)
