Wonderful nose of cedar and dark fruit with a hint of spice. Elegant and mature. Probably not going to improve but not close to declining yet. 91

Well great minds think alike Board-O! I posted on this last night but VC was acting up and ate the post.
My bottle with a nice juicy tri-tip was garnet in color, showing nothing on opening. With an hour in the bottle and a half hour in the decanter it opened and filled out very nicely with plump black cherry, dark earth, worn leather, and asian spices. I got just a smidge of cedar. Nicely medium bodied with some chewey tannins still evident, I thought it was just mature and rated it at 90 pts.

Missus Me and I consumed our 3 bottles of the '83 over the past 18 months or so. We concur with your notes.
