| Had this wine yesterday at our VinoCellar organizational meeting. Decanted for 3 1/2 hours prior to tasting. Consumed from Riedel Vinum Bordeaux stems.
Deep dark ruby/purple color w/ the slightest watery rim. Nose was constantly evolving between sweet and sour tobacco fragrances. Still somewhat tight, but you can tell there is excellent concentration here. Blackberry and leather on the palate w/ very low acidity and moderate tannins. jb Rating 90.
The lack of acidity in this wine doesn't bode well for the future of this wine. If you own some, I would try it now and see what you think.

| Wow! only a 90?
Isn't this considered one of the Top10 or 20 Bordeaux's of all time? This isn't the first negative review I've read about this wine. Perhaps it's very backwards right now. Or perhaps it's grossly overpriced.

| At the prices this wine is commanding at auction, I would sell any bottles I owned. Unfortunately, I don't own any. The lack of acidity I feel might be problematic for this wine down the road. Just my opinion.

| even parker has dropped his score by 3 points and talks about maybe, possibly, potentially being wrong about the wine. On the other hand, our tasting group picked out the Latour in a double blind tasting of 1989s as the wine of the night. I think Parker under-rates that one.

| Interesting points by everyone. This is a Wine that I ALWAYS wanted to try. Expected a LOT. May be, that was 1 of my problems (the expectation, too much of it). And, I hate to use the word disappointed, because it was still a fine bottle of Wine, but Not what I expected.
...Reading everyone's comments. It makes sense.

| The 1990 Latour had wonderful aromas of green tobacco, but on the palate I just did not feel the levels of fruit needed was present. I don't believe this wine was closed either. All in all it was a real treat and is still one good bottle of wine, but echoing jb and ojeffso I do not believe this wine is going to get better. I gave it 93 points | | | |
