We had this tonight intentionally to compare it with the 1985 Pichon-Lalande we had last night.
The color was a dense purple with nary a hint of browning at the edges. It had a pronounced nose of cedar and dark berries. On the palate, the wine is concentrated with ample fruit and tannins that should ideally be a little softer. Flavors of dark fruit and cherries are slightly marred by the tannic edge. This wine needs more time in the bottle. 91 now, should improve.
Though Parker preferred the Leoville-Las Cases, we preferred the Pichon-Lalande.

So, I have a question.
I have a few 2000 LLC's. Should I drink them NOW, or will they last for a few years?
Thanks for the notes, Board-O. Maybe we can share the first bottle of the '00 vintage at the VinoCellar 20th Anniversary?
Cheers, y'all

I loaded up on Bordeaux when I started my cellar, drank a few too young, and am now reaping the rewards.
