Dark purple, moderate nose of currant, spice, cedar, leather, gravel and cassis.  Full body, high complexity, medium acidity and high tannins. Deeper, more “bass-y” palate, smoke, leather, tar, black currant and spice. 97pts

Had this at our Memphis Wine Group Christmas offline last night. Agree with the notes above, especially the tannins. This bottle was brought by Latour67 and decanted for 12 hours prior to the offline. Still very tannic and makes me wonder if the fruit will be able to hold up as long as the tannins. Still, a very good showing. 94 pts.

This was my personal WOTN at a recent Bordeaux centered dinner. Just a great bottle of wine whose best years are ahead of it.

Rats - all my 86s (bought from Draeger's) were cooked. Sounds like I should try to find another bottle of this one.

This is one of my all time favourite, but I never decant any Bordeaux for more than 2hrs....

just wondering what it taste like after 12 hrs of decanting...

The unique nose and Pauillac like body is definitely trademark of Leoville Las Cases in any given vintage.
