| - 2000 Château Gloria - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (12/24/2006)
Elegant herbs, licorice, and dark spice on the nose. The same spices plus the addition of blackberries across the palate. Medium body, nice mouthfeel, but shorter than I'd like. Decanted an hour before drinking, consumed over 3 more hours; the last glass or so was starting to lose it. Still, a nice Bdx at the price point.(88 pts.)

| | Thanks for the note on this. mdriver, ZekeBoston and I shared a bottle of the 1990 Gloria a few weeks ago. It started strong (especially when compared to a 1990 Chateau Montelena) but started to lose power later in the evening. For its price point, this does provide some nice, complex drinking over a good life span. This is the type of wine you can buy a couple of each good year, lock away, and crack open in 10-15 years with pleasure... | | | |
