Had my first experience with the '99 this past weekend and it was everything I had hoped for. My father visited me from NY for a few days and he brought this with him. We brought it to a very good french restaurant here in Louisville. (Le Relais). We let it breath for 60 minutes and the nose really blossomed as it was poured. The nose consisted of cassis, old forest maple wood and truffles. The color of the wine was combination of ruby and garnet. The palate delivered the classis Mouton smoke and full bodied plum and currant fruits. As time progressed a lengthy coffee, tobacco flavor emerged that really made this wine a great match with the classic french food. The tannins and acidity in this wine are truly juicy in texture. While this wine is still young it is one of the Moutons you can enjoy now and into the future. If you have several, open one and let it breathe for an hour. It will put a smile on your face. Drink over the next 15yrs. 95pts.
