1989 Château Phélan Ségur (Saint-Estèphe) -- dark ruby red, looks great in a decanter; currant and spicecake nose with that bottle-aged sweetness that Bordeaux develops; currant, pipe tobacco, leather, and minerals in the mouth, extremely silky; medium-length, gentle finish. About 90-91 pts. Clearly not a powerhouse, but drinking very well now.
