A recent offering from K&L, a Chateau I have never heard of, but thought I'd give it a flier at $49.99 - glad I did.

Medium dark ruby red, with just the slightest hint of bricking at the edge, the nose is immediately pleasing, with very nice effusive notes of cherry, plum, stones, and floral undertones. Filling out the palate nicely, the wine is balanced, with a good core of red fruit, really nice acidity, and fine, smooth tannins. A 'fleshy' wine, this offers moderate complexity and a good deal of pleasure, finishing fine and with medium length. Can be enjoyed now, or cellared for at least 5 years. 92 points.

I had this wine recently during one of K&L Saturday tastings (of mostly 2003 BDX). This 1990 Rochebelle was not decanted but it was one of the standouts of the day. The wine was quite good and still "fresh" tasting despite its age. Pretty good deal for a 1990 BDX for $50.
