2003 Château Fleur Cardinale - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (6/30/2006)WIML89,PURPLE88,WA91,~WS85-88
Tasted June 30, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel tasting glass. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Very perfumed nose with some mocha and asphalt notes. Tight on the palate giving up some notes of cherries, Bing cherries and mocha. Firm tannins, medium acidity. Medium bodied. I’d recommend holding for a couple of years before trying again. Based on the local retail price of $29.74 I’d say the value here is between agreeable at the moment, could easily become recommended with more time in bottle.
