It is nice to try an '86 Bordeaux that is just entering its prime drinking window. This wine is a dark ruby thick and unctious red with large amounts of black currents, slight cassis and cedar components with medium sweet tannin while obvious but not harsh. In the early '90's RP said '05-2040 for a drinking window. I am not sure about 2040, but it will drink well for another decade. It is hard to believe that this wine is not a Classified Growth Bordeaux. The acidity in this wine suggests it would go well with several types of food. 90pts. Try one if you have a few.
