2003 Château Talbot - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (4/5/2006)
Deep purple-red - translucent with strong backlight. Very open, correct nose of berries and spice. Full-bodied, mouth coating, obviously ripe. Shows nice, smooth tannic structure, low acidity and a long, pleasing finish. Reminds me of a California wine because of body and ripeness, except that, at future prices, it is a far better QPR than any Cal cab I know of. Excellent wine, drinking extremely well right now. I wish I had ordered more than six bottles. (92 pts.)
