I'm shocked that there is no thread on this moderately historic wine. While many critics didn't exactly rave over this wine, it often comes up in coversations I have as one of the truly great Montroses, and one of the great 1970s. Anyway...

I've had this wine several times but hadn't tasted it in a couple of years. Dark black cherry, cassis, brown cigar tobacco and graphite on the nose and palate. Long finish. The nose and flavors seem unevolved and suggest this wine is still getting better, although the mouthfeel is not too tannic. Tasting this next to the 1990 it was amazing how similar they tasted and no one would have been able to tell they were 20 years apart. 94

I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland.
