Cotes de Francs, Bordeaux
80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc


The vineyard that is used to make this wine is 12 acres and the winemaker is Nicholas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt. This is one modern in your face wine with huge amounts of dark fruits, creme de cassis, and sweet cherry intermixed with spice, tannin and fragrant flowers. This is a $20 wine from the outstanding 2000 vintage that is drinking remarkably well right now and will for quite some time. If you have several try one now. 90-91pts.

This wine has been open for business since release & is an incredible value. The '01 and '02 are not in the same league.

What is the price of this in your neck of the woods? If there is any extra I would be interested in 2-3 bottles.

When I went back they were all gone. Don't remember the price though (perhaps $20-$25).

UPDATE: found this for $16.99 (at least the web site says they have it - not always the case). I 'll grab a few when I pick up my 03 futures.
