| I've never been a huge Pomerol fan but I was curious if this would change that. Nope. It was interesting, though, as the others were ooing and ahhing over this, I could sense everything they were talking about -- the nose of crushed violets with lavander (in addition to the choclate black cherry, and blueberry) and the elegant palate. But, to me, the tannins on the back were incredibly drying (so much so that I thought it might be corked initially) and I was just needing to work too hard to "undersand" the wine. I don't have enough experience with Pomerol to know, but this may have been drinking very young. My guess is that it will be better in 5-8 years. Still, this was very good, just not mind-blowing. 91.5(+?) | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen |
