Dark ruby colour. Aromas of cigar, spice box, vanilla, balckberry, maple/walnut, leather. Medium-full bodied, integrated tannins, with cedar and blackcurrant notes. Moderate finish, 30-35s, with black fruit. 91 points (07/24/2005).

Sounds a bit disappointing... I have about 3 bottles that I have been hanging onto, with the hope that they will be spectacular in a few more years...

I still have 11 bottles left. Based on my sample of one, this wine is years away from ready. I'll probably open the next bottle next year and be prepared to give it a lot of time in the decanter.

Welcome back, Rothko. I hope you and your family had a great time in Cashiers.

We had this wine last Sunday as part of a Margaux vertical. I was expecting it to be closed, but we wanted it as part of the vertical. I shouldn't have caved.

The wine had a beautiful, deep nose of cedar and baking fruit pies. On the palate, the wine was closed, even after three hours in the decanter. Not much fruit was evident. This wine seemed completely shut down. Rating withheld, hoping it opens before I close. I have ten bottles left and expect to wait years for the next.

OK, I'll keep my 3 in the wine storage for a few more years.

I'm thinking of auctioning off 6 of mine.

Before you do that, shoot me an email... Maybe we could work something out.

I'll keep it in mind, but I'm finding them disappointing so far.
