| Decanted 1 hour & served with grilled streaks.
Weighing in at only 12% alcohol, it was wrestled to the ground by a '00 Shafer Merlot we afterward. But I'm glad we opened this one first. Beautiful, delicate nose of plums, cherries, flowers, and wood. I spent most of this bottle sniffing my glass. Very understated body, with soft (almost 'dusty') tannins subtly intermingling with more plums, cherries, and raspberries, and a healthy dose of spice. Short, but peppery finish of 10+ seconds. Much more 'old world' than 'new world'. Very tasty wine, but don't open it up with a big fruit bomb or you'll be disappointed! Inexpensive for a 10 year old Bordeaux - $28 bucks! (91 pts.)
